Even if specular for certain aspects and with a music vision often coincident, Chet Baker and Bill Evans, only on rare occasions recorded together and only between December 1958 and July 1959. From those sessions two albums came out with Baker's name: Chet – The lyrical trumpet of Chet Baker, and Chet Baker Plays the Best of Lerner and Loewe. The American Jazz Classics presents both again in one CD of long duration. Needless to say this is very high quality jazz and probably among the best 100 CD’s hypothetic selection.
