New Black Rhodium speaker plug range

Press Release | As part of the Black Rhodium commitment to delivering exceptionally good sound quality at sensible prices, Black Rhodium has recently expanded its range of speaker plugs to ensure that all the speaker cables in the Black Rhodium range are fitted with plugs that enhance the quality of the cables.
 
Black Rhodium’s most recent additions to its range include the rhodium plated plugs that have been designed to add value by delivering better sound quality without changing the mechanical connection.
 
The full range includes plugs selected for exceptional sound quality, ease of use, attractive high end styling and compatibility with the many different types of speaker cable available.
 
In the case of the Z plugs, new methods of termination have been developed as a secure attachment is dependent on a very precise procedure. Full details of termination of these plugs for selected Black Rhodium speaker cables are supplied free of charge.
 
Black Rhodium has carried out recent tests on some of its speaker plugs using Twirl speaker cable fitted with different sets of conductors. Although the tests were not extensive and can not be considered conclusive, they indicated that locking plugs sounded better than those without a locking device, Z plugs sounded clearer than banana plugs and the rhodium plated plugs sounded much more musical than gold plated plugs.
 
In addition, out of curiosity, Black Rhodium carried out a test between two cables using the same speaker plugs. As the plus had two screws for attaching the cable, one cable pair was fitted with the plugs screwed tightly to the conducting wire. The other was connected so that the outer plug secured the insulation whilst only the inner screw, nearer the connector end, had electrical connection to the wire.  Differences in sound were small, but there was the distinct impression that the cable with only one screw electrically connected the music sounded clearer.
 
Whilst the differences in sound quality between different plugs did not seem very large, the sound quality from the best plugs sounded far more satisfying and delivered greater musical insights from the performance. The benefits of choosing speaker plugs for good sound quality was quite obvious.
