Press release | Due to the current trend of an increasing number of coronavirus cases, the High End Society Service GmbH has considered all factors and ultimately decided to cancel the Finest Audio Show Zurich 2021, which was due to take place on 9th and 10th January. “As the event organiser, we believe it’s our responsibility to act in a timely manner to provide our exhibitors with planning reliability at an early stage”, states Stefan Dreischärf, Managing Director, explaining the decision. The High End Society Service GmbH had to take into account both a potential risk to participants’ health and the economic consequences.
“After a difficult year without any trade shows, we are, of course, very sad to have to take this step”, emphasises Stefan Dreischärf. The team worked intensively on the planning of the Swiss trade show over the past few months. Comprehensive measures were implemented to enable a hotel-based trade show to take place despite the unprecedented circumstances of a pandemic, for example the development of a workable and flexible hygiene and infection prevention concept. “Despite taking these measures, we now believe that the successful running of this popular audio show is at risk given the current situation”, explains Dreischärf. The development of the number of infections in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland and neighbouring European countries shows that the coronavirus crisis is still very much at large. As expected, the colder weather is increasing the risk of infection. At present, nobody can predict how the situation will develop during the winter season and which limitations will influence public life. It is therefore impossible to foresee whether the circumstances will have calmed down enough to allow a trade show to be held without any major problems or concerns next January.
Under the new name of Finest Audio Show Zurich, the event will now continue the long-standing tradition of the High End Swiss on 15th and 16th January 2022. The complete rescheduling of the trade show from its original autumn dates to the start of the year was already planned and received an excellent response from exhibitors. The Mövenpick Hotel Zurich Regensdorf will continue to be used as the event venue.
Despite the cancellation of the Finest Audio Show Zurich 2021, exhibitors and visitors do not have to wait an entire year until the next audio trade show. Registrations for the High End Munich in May 2021 are already coming in fast. With its geographic proximity to Switzerland, wide variety of exhibition areas and international network, the MOC Event Center in Munich offers exhibitors the ideal conditions for their trade show appearance. “We expect the circumstances for hosting our trade shows to have significantly improved by next Spring”, states Dreischärf. A workable and flexible hygiene and infection prevention concept has, of course, also been developed for the High End 2021. “We are confident that this will enable us to experience a successful trade show without any of the current concerns.”
With the new name Finest Audio Show Zurich, we are continuing the long-standing tradition of its High End Swiss trade show, which has been a successful event for many years. The Swiss hi-fi trade show has been the ultimate event for connoisseurs of sophisticated musical enjoyment in the Alpine nation for many years.
